CALL TO ORDER
The Council "Pre- Meeting" Work Session of April 4, 2005, was convened at 5:45 P.M. by
Mayor John Landwehr.
ATTENDANCE
following Council Members were present:
Present: Berry* *(arrived at 5:55 PM), Brown, Crane, * *Ferguson (arrived at 5:55
PM), Harvey, Layton, *Martin (arrived at 5:53 PM), Schnitzler, Viessman,
and Vogel
Absent: None
A quorum was present.
DISCUSSION OF AGENDA ITEMS
Items were not necessarily discussed in order that they appeared on the agenda.
Liaison reports:
Mayor John Landwehr will report on his meeting with the Governor's Office regarding the issue
of state jobs lost in the area.
Mayor John Landwehr asked about the Council making a motion to allow him to extend an offer
to Mr. Greg McAboy and the Lincoln University students who recently made a presentation
before the City Council to serve as LU's liaison to the Council. He indicated this would not be
an appointment to any city committee, but LU would be selecting their own liaison(s) and
allowing them to attend Council meetings.
*Councilman Dean Martin arrived at this point in the meeting (5:53 PM)
Mayor John Landwehr will report briefly on meetings which have occurred to discuss
annexation in the Hwy 179 corridor area.
** Councilmen Berry and Ferguson arrived at this point in the meeting (5:55 PM)
Consent Agenda:

Questions were asked about Bid 2199. The Council indicated they would like to get more
information on this, and unless there was a deadline of some kind, Councilman Brian Crane
stated he would like this held over until the April 18 meeting.
Bill 2004 -157:
City Counselor Nathan Nickolaus stated that although a substitute bill 2004 -157 was distributed
that some more details need to be worked out, and asked if the sponsor would place the bill
on the Informal Calendar until some changes can be made.
