CALL TO ORDER
The Special Council Meeting of June 18, 2004, was convened at 12:00 P.M. by Mayor John
Landwehr.
ATTENDANCE
The following Council Members were present at roll -call:
Present: Berry, Brown, Ferguson, Harvey, Patterson, Viessman, Vogel, and
Weber
Absent: Crane, Martin
A quorum was present.
PUBLIC HEARINGS
Voluntary Annexation of 87.20 Acres of Real Property South of West Edgewood
City Planner Janice McMillan gave background information and showed a map indicating where
the proposed annexation area is located. Following her presentation, Councilman Bill Patterson
asked how many acres can be added to the city without triggering the hiring of new firefighters. City
Administrator Rich Mays answered that because this particular property being annexed is zoned
RU (rural) with no structures on it, it would not require that the city hire additional firefighters.
Following staff discussion, no persons present came forward to speak in favor of, or opposition to,
the proposed voluntary annexation.
Mayor John Landwehr declared the public hearing concluded.
The Council convened the Brown Bag Work Session at this time (12:10 P.M.)
