BACKGROUND: On September 19, 2018, the Parks and Recreation Commission held their regularly scheduled meeting . ANALYSIS: Following is a summary of actions taken at the September 19, 2018 Parks and Recreation Commission meeting : 1. ROLL CALL: Present: Commissioner-Georgine, Rosso, Vice -Chairman Vance , Chairman Haddad Absent: Commis sioner -None Excused: Commissioner-Baroldi 2. CONSENT CALENDAR The Parks and Recreation Commission approved the minutes of the July 18, 2018 meeting and received and filed the Monthly Reports for July and August 2018. City Council October 16, 2018 Page 2 of 2 3. NEW BUSINESS A. REQUEST FOR AUTHORIZATION FROM TEMPLE CITY AMATEUR SOFTBALL ASSOCIATION (TCASA) TO HANG REGISTRATION BANNER FOR THEIR 2019 SEASON AT LIVE OAK PARK The Commission reviewed and approved a request from TCASA to hang a registration banner for their 2019 season on the south fence of the tennis courts adjacent to the baseball field at Live Oak Park from October 1, 2018 - December 15, 2018. B. APPOINTMENT OF NON-VOTING MEMBER TO COMMITTEE ON AGING The Commission appointed Commissioner Rosso to the Committee on Aging as a non -voting member. 4. UPDATE FROM PARKS AND RECREATION DIRECTOR A. The Commission received the Parks and Recreation Director's Report for the month of September 2018 . CITY STRATEGIC GOALS: Reviewing the Commission actions of September 19, 2018 furthers the City 's Strategic Goal of Citizen Education and Communication. FISCAL IMPACT: This item does not have an impact on the Fiscal Year (FY) 2018-19 City Budget.
