Forbes , Community Development Director By: Ali Cayir, PE , City Engineer SUBJECT : ACCEPTANCE OF PROJECT COMPLETION FOR THE CITYWIDE OVERH EAD STREET SIGN REPLACEMENT PROJECT (CIP NO. P12- 04) RECOMMENDATION: The City Council is requested to: 1. Accept project completion for the Citywide Overhead Street Sign Replacement Project (CIP No . P12 -04) as performed by PTM General Engineering Services , Inc. with a f inal contract amount of $72,27 0 ; and 2 . Authorize the City Manager to file a Notice of Completion with the County of Los Angeles Registrar-Recorder and release the retention payment 35 days thereafter. BACKGROUND: 1. On April 18 , 2017 , the City Council approved construction bid documents and authorized the City Manager to conduct a formal bid process for the project. 2 . On July 18 , 2017 , the City Council authorized award of a $72 ,270 construction cont ract with PTM General Engineering Services , Inc . and authori zed the City Manager to approve change orders in an amount not to exceed 1 0 percent of the awarded contract amount ($7 ,227) for unanticipated project costs . 3. In April 2018 , PTM General Engineering Services, Inc . commenced wo rk on the project. The work was completed in July 2018 within the cont ract schedule . 4 . The final cost fo r the construction work completed by PTM General Engineering Services , Inc. is $72 ,270 , the approved contract amount. No change orders were required for the project. City Council October 16 , 2 018 Page 2 of 3 ANALYSIS: In total , there are 89 overhead street signs at signalized inte rsections throughout the City . Out of these , 30 overhead street signs along Temple City Boulevard were replaced as part of the Temple City Boulevard Highway Safety Improvement Project , and four were previously replaced by the County of Los Angeles per County specifications at intersections with shared jurisdiction. This project replaced the remaining 55 overhead street signs. Below is the list of intersections and number of signs replaced. City Council October 16 , 2018 Page 3 of 3 FISCAL IMPACT: Funding for this project was included in the ·Fiscal Year (FY) 2017-18 City Budget under CIP No . P12-04 . There is no impact on the FY 2018-19 City Budget. ATTACHMENTS: None
