SUBJECT: PLANNING COMMISSION ACTIONS -MEETING OF OCTOB ER 23, 2018

RECOMMENDATION:
The City Council is requested to receive and file the Plann ing Commiss ion
(Commission) actions from their meeting of October 23, 2018 .
BACKGROUND :
On October 23 , 2018 , the Commission held their regularly scheduled meeting.
ANALYSIS:
The following is a summary of actions taken at the October 23 , 2018 meet ing:
1. ROLL CALL:
Present: Commissioner -Cordes , Marston , Vice Cha ir Lee , Chair O'Leary
Absent: Commissioner -Haddad
Excused : Commissioner -None
2 . CONSENT CALENDAR
The Commission approved the minutes from their regular meeting of September
11 1 2018 .

3. PUBLIC HEARING
A. ZONING CODE UPDATE-DRAFT REVISIONS OF VARIOUS ARTICLES
The Commission received the speaker's presentation of recommended changes in
the Zoning Code and input from the community.
4. UNFINISHED BUSINESS-None
5. NEW BUSINESS-None
6. COMMUNICATIONS-None
7. UPDATE FROM THE PLANNING MANAGER
Planning Manager Reimers stated this was the last section of the draft zoning
code update and staff will be back in November with response to comments and
will provide a revised version. Staff will be working on an outreach program to try
to get input form the community and will bring back a revised version in early 2019.
He mentioned that the City received a second place award for the best
comprehensive plan for a small jurisdiction for the City's recently adopted Mid
Century General Plan and Crossroads Specific Plan.
The Series 2 Code Amendment will be reviewed by the City Council in November.
The City has published a request for proposals for development impact fees. The
process will take about six months. A 75-unit mixed use project has been
submitted under the City's new Crossroads Specific Plan. Cauldron ice cream
shop has opened at Camellia Square.

The Commission meeting was adjourned at 7:59 p.m.
CITY STRATEGIC GOALS:
Reviewing the Commission actions of October 23, 2018, furthers the City's Strategic
Goals of Citizen Education and Communication.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This item does not have an impact on the Fiscal Year 2018-19 City Budget.
