HomeMy Public PortalAbout2015-061 Resolution Authorizing Amendment to Residential Recycling Grant Agreement with Hennepin CountyMember Pederson introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: CITY OF MEDINA RESOLUTION NO.2015-61 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AMENDMENT TO RESIDENTIAL RECYCLING GRANT AGREEMENT WITH HENNEPIN COUNTY WHEREAS, pursuant to Minnesota Statute 115A.552, counties shall ensure that residents have an opportunity to recycle; and WHEREAS, Hennepin County Ordinance 13 requires that each city implement and maintain a recycling program; and WHEREAS, the Hennepin County Board adopted a resolution to amend the Hennepin County Residential Recycling Funding Policy to incorporate requirements to expend additional SCORE funds on organics recycling, and extend the contract period of the Residential Recycling Funding Policy from December 31, 2015 to December 31, 2016; and WHEREAS, in order to receive grant funds, the City must sign the agreement; and WHEREAS, the City wishes to receive these grant funds each year. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Medina, Minnesota, that the City Council accepts the agreement as proposed. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council authorizes the Mayor, City Administrator or his designee to execute such Residential Recycling Grant Agreement with the County. Dated: August 5, 2015.
