Mayor William Man called the Special Meeting to order at 7:02 a.m. in the City Hall
Community Room located at 9701 Las Tunas Drive, Temple City.

Zuniga and Deputy Sanders
Councilmember Chavez made a motion to excuse
Councilmember Sternquist Councilmember Yu for cause.
Seconded by Mayor Pro Tern Fish.

A. QUALITY OF LIFE
Deputy Sanders provided a brief overview of the number of sex offender
registrants, parolees, and probationers in the City.
B. OPERATIONS
Deputy Sanders provided an update regarding arrests and operations in the
City.
C. CRIME TRENDS
Deputy Sanders provided an overview of crime trends in neighboring cities
affecting Temple City.

Councilmember Chavez inquired about the Sheriff's Volunteer on Patrol
Program and asked if there could be more recruitment for the program.
Councilmember Chavez and Mayor Pro Tem Fish inquired about the
possibility of bringing back the Resident Safety Volunteer Patrol program
(RSVP)

Deputy Sanders provided an overview of notable arrests made in the City.
E. TRAFFIC ISSUES
Deputy Sanders provided an overview of traffic issues in the City.
F. CRIME AND TRAFFIC STATISTICS
Deputy Sanders provided an overview of the crime and traffic statistics.
G. SPECIAL ASSIGNMENT TEAM ACTIVITIES
Deputy Sanders provided an update on the special assignment team
activities.
H. PUBLIC OUTREACH I EVENTS
Deputy Sanders reported on the public outreach conducted by the special
assignment team.
Councilmember Chavez left the meeting at 8:04 a.m. and returned at 8:07
a.m.
I. UPCOMING EVENTS FOR DECEMBER 2018
Deputy Sanders announced upcoming meetings and events that will be
conducted in the City.
Council asked staff to look into the possibility of partnering with 3M for safety
and security window film for glass sliders.
Mike Reed, Temple City Resident, made comments regarding traffic
enforcement and residential burglaries.
