A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD AWARDING
A CONTRACT TO METRO VIDEO SYSTEM, INC. AS THE APPARENT LOWEST
BIDDER, IN THE AMOUNT NOT-TO-EXCEED $176,778 FOR THE PUBLIC WORKS
YARD; SECURITY VIDEO SURVEILLANCE CAMERA SYSTEM PROJECT,
PROJECT NUMBER 4011.67.905, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE
THE AGREEMENT
WHEREAS, the Security Video Surveillance Camera System Project is
scheduled for completion during fiscal year (FY) 2010-2011 and is being funded by
Water Revenue Bond and Lease Revenue Bond; and
WHEREAS, on March 17, 2011, this project was advertised in Long Beach
Press-Telegram, Lynwood Press, Dodge Construction News, McGraw-Hill Construction
News, Bid America, Construction Bid Board and Reed Construction Data; and
WHEREAS, the City mailed out plans and specifications to eight contractors and
who requested to bid on the project. In addition, six contractors picked up the plans and
specifications from the engineering department; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to section 6-6.7 of the Contract for Public Works Projects,
public projects of more than $125,000 shall be conducted for pursuant to the formal
bidding procedures and as such, the Director of Public Works prepared a notice of
inviting formal bids, which distinctly described the project and stated the time and place
for receiving and opening sealed bids
WHEREAS, the bid opening took place in the Office of the City Clerk on March
30, 2011, and three contractors submitted bids; and

WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works / City Engineer has ascertained that
Metro Video System, Inc. is the lowest responsible bidder at $176,778; and
WHEREAS, a reference check has revealed that this contractor, Metro Video
System, Inc., has the necessary experience and contractor's license for this type of
project.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY FIND, PROCLAIM, ORDER, AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the contract for the Security Video Surveillance Camera
System, Project No. 4011.67.905, be awarded to Metro Vide System, Inc. for its lowest
bid of $176,778.
Section 2. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute the agreement
between the City of Lynwood and Metro Video System, Inc., approved as to form by the
City Attorney.
Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
Section 4. The City Clerk shall certify as to the adoption of this City Council
Resolution.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 19 day of April, 2011.
