The 58th meeting of the Orleans Police Station Building Committee was convened by Chairman Tom Finan on September 27, 2017 1:00PM in the Nauset Room of the Orleans Town Hall. Present were Chairman Tom Finan, Bill Stoeckert, Bill Weil, Jeff Roy, Dale Fuller and Associate Member Ron Collins. Also present were FEE-Officio member Chief Scott MacDonald, BoS liaison Dave Currier and FinCom liaison Roger Pearson. Public Comment: There was no public comment Guests Mike Fortunato, Pomroy Associates-Project Management Approval of Minutes Upon motion of'Bill Weil, seconded by Ron Collins, the August 30, 2017 minutes of the Police Station Building Committee were approved 4-0-1. Discussion-Mike Fortunato provided a project update on the following: • At the beginning of the month, Brite Lite was on site to install the conduit for the transformer pad.The secondary line from the building to the pad and the primary line from the pad to the pole on Rt.28 have been installed and inspected by Eversource. The transformer pad is expected to be installed and inspected October 5th, Conduit for site lighting and the flag poles has been installed. • Capeway is installing gutters, downspouts and shingle returns. All gutter work and mockups have been reviewed by Richard Kirby from KBA. • LOHR Construction has completed the auxiliary building with an exterior punch list remaining. Interior framing on the stairs and rails is in process. October 30,2017 Police Station Building Committee Meeting Minutes 2017-09-27 10:16:05 AM Y 2 • Frank Mortell of GOD has made several site visits to approve the interior mechanical, electrical & plumbing work in progress. • CAM HVAC has been working on the ductwork continuously throughout the building. The main air handler, and chiller where delivered in July. Pipe fitters have been testing the copper lines throughout the building for the past 4 days with no sign of leaks or loss in pressure. CAM is concentrating on the detention area and then moving into the mechanical room. • Baskin builders will be back in the next week or two to work on the remaining carpentry work such as the railings,trim and car port trim. All siding and trim is expected to be complete by the end of October. • Araujo Plumbing had their first in-wall plumbing inspection this month; and now they are working on the hot/cold water lines above the ceiling. Final rough on plumbing is expected this week. • Brite Lite Electrical has completed the backbox installation, armor cable and fire alarm wiring, and low voltage security wiring. With the exception of some minor work yet to be determined in the community/training room, Brite Lite is ready for their final rough in on the main building. Detention area and electrical room remain. • Diglt the site contractor brought the soils up to grade finish grade and is installing the granite curb. Finish pavement will be installed at a later date. UTS has been on site monitoring all excavation, backfill and asphalt placement. Loam is being placed on the back parking lot. With the exception of the gas line to be installed mid-October, the site contractor's work is nearing its end. Irrigation and planting will take place towards the end of October. • Pomroy Associates office manager has put a sample chart of flooring, tile and paint samples in the construction office for viewing. KBA has reviewed the samples and taken them back to their office for a final color review with the Chief on Friday at KBA's main office. Over the next few weeks we will see: • Rough Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing Inspections • Wall drywall and plaster • Exterior Siding and trim complete • Fire Protection/Sprinkler complete • Transformer pad installation • Cupola installation • Gutters and downspouts and roof complete. • RAC was complimented for their coordination of the many contractors performing simultaneous tasks during this construction phase.
