ORDINANCE NO. 2-2011
A SPECIAL ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF RICHMOND TO
RECEIVE DONATIONS FOR HUMAN RIGHTS DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, the City of Richmond, Indiana, has the option of accepting or rejecting
donations for a specific purpose; and
WHEREAS, the acceptance of a donation for a specific purpose constitutes the
appropriation of such property for the intended purpose; and
WHEREAS, the Richmond Human Rights Commission wishes to seek donations from
various individuals in order to fund the operating expenses and Fair
Housing outreach programs of the Human Rights Commission and Human
Rights Department for the 2011 calendar year; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City to permit the Richmond Human Rights
Commission to seek and accept donations to fund the operating expenses
and Fair Housing outreach programs of the Human Rights Commission
and Human Rights Department during the 2011 calendar year.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of
Richmond, Indiana, that the following shall be accepted and gratefully acknowledged by
the citizens of Richmond:
An amount up to Eighty-five Thousand Dollars and No Cents ($85,000.00) to the
Human Rights Commission, to be used to fund the operating expenses and Fair
Housing outreach programs of the Human Rights Commission and the Human
Rights Department for the 2011 calendar year.
Passed and adopted this 7th day of February 2011, by the Common Council of
the City of Richmond, Indiana.
