CALL TO ORDER
The June 17, 2005, "Brown Bag" Work Session was convened at 12:05 PM by Mayor John
Landwehr.
ATTENDANCE
The following Council Members were present when the meeting convened:
Present: Berry, Brown, Crane, Harvey, Layton,
Absent: Ferguson, Martin, Pope, Schnitzler, and Vogel
A quorum was not present.
DISCUSSION OF AGENDA ITEMS
Items were not necessarily discussed in order that they appeared on the agenda.
RESOLUTIONS:
Mayor John Landwehr distributed material which had been emailed to him by Stephen
Johnson regarding Missouri River Heritage Tourism Initiative. Mayor Landwehr requested
that a resolution be added to the agenda in the form of the one sent by Mr. Johnson, and
asked the Council to read the material and be prepared to discuss and possibly adopt the
resolution on Monday night. He stated Mr. Johnson will be asked to make a presentation
at the Council meeting to answer questions about the issue. This will become RS2005 -3.
BILLS INTRODUCED:
2005 -25: Questions were asked about this bill pertaining to the sidewalks being part of the
bid. Concerns were voiced about adding it onto another bid without the Public Works &
Planning Committee voting on it separately.
2005 -26: Assistant to the City Administrator Melva Fast stated that a public hearing on this
issue has been scheduled to be held at the end of the July 1 Brown Bag meeting.
2005 -28: Britt Smith indicated there was a typo in this bill and that it would be corrected and
distributed at the June 20 pre- meeting.
2005 -30: City Counselor Nathan Nickolaus stated that Councilman Jonathon Schnitzler
would be requesting suspension of the rules so this could be in effect before the July 4
downtown celebration. A lengthy discussion was held on this issue with many questions

asked of staff.
