AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL,
ACCEPTANCE, AND APPROPRIATION OF A GRANT FROM THE
FIRE PREVENTION & SAFETY GRANT PROGRAM
WHEREAS, The Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program has grant funding available
through the Fire Prevention & Safety Grant Program; and
WHEREAS, The City of Richmond Fire Department desires to submit a grant application
to obtain funds that will be used to procure smoke detectors; and
WHEREAS, A local match of One Thousand One Hundred Thirty-five Dollars ($1,13 5.00)
is required.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of
Richmond, Indiana, as follows:
1. The City of Richmond Fire Department is hereby authorized to submit a grant
application to the federal Fire Prevention & Safety Grant Program.
2. The City of Richmond Fire Department is authorized to accept said grant
funding in an amount up to Ten Thousand Two Hundred Fifteen Dollars and Zero Cents
($10,215.00).
3. The local match of One Thousand One Hundred Thirty-five Dollars
($1,13 5.00) will be supplied by the Richmond Fire Department budget.
4. Said grant funding shall be used to procure smoke detectors.
Passed and adopted this _7th day of _March 2011, by the Common Council of the
City of Richmond, Indiana.
