HomeMy Public PortalAbout017-2011 - Grant - Police - Partnership for aORDINANCE NO. 17-2011 AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL, ACCEPTANCE, AND APPROPRIATION OF A GRANT FROM THE PARTNERSHIP FOR A DRUG FREE WAYNE COUNTY WHEREAS, The Partnership for a Drug Free Wayne County has grant funding available; and WHEREAS, The City of Richmond Police Department desires to submit a grant application to obtain funds that will be used for K-9 equipment, training for handler and K-9 and to purchase educational materials to be handed out at public presentations on the use of K-9s; and WHEREAS, No local match is required. NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, as follows: 1. The City of Richmond Police Department is hereby authorized to submit a grant application to the Partnership for a Drug Free Wayne County. 2. The City of Richmond Police Department is authorized to accept said grant funding in an amount up to Seven Thousand Dollars and Zero Cents ($7,000.00). 3. Seven Thousand Dollars ($7,000.00) of said funds, if awarded to the City of Richmond Police Department, shall be appropriated for K-9 equipment, training for handler and K-9 and to purchase educational materials to be handed out at public presentations on the use of K-9s.
