If you wish to address the Commission, please complete a speaker request form and submit to the Public Safety Officer. There will be a five (5) minute time limit on each speaker or subject. 5. CONSENT CALENDAR All consent calendar items may be approved in a single motion as recommended unless removed for further discussion. If members of the Commission or persons in the audience wish to discuss any matters listed on the Consent Calendar, please address them at this time. Recommendation: approve item A per recommendations A. APPROVAL OF MINUTES – Regular Meeting of February 9, 2011 Recommendation: approve B. ADOPTION OF RESOLUTION NO. PSC 11-0002 – APPROVING THE REQUESTS FOR GREEN CURB MARKINGS FOR 9624, 9628, 9668, AND 9674 LAS TUNAS DRIVE The Public Safety Commission is requested to adopt Resolution No. PSC 11- 0002 approving the requests for green curb markings for 9624, 9628, 9668, and 9674 Las Tunas Drive. Recommendation: adopt Resolution No. PSC 11-0002 C. ADOPTION OF RESOLUTION NO. PSC 11-0003 – DENYING THE REQUEST FOR GREEN CURB MARKINGS FOR 9600 LAS TUNAS DRIVE PUBLIC SAFETY COMMISSION AGENDA Page 2 February 23, 2011 The Public Safety Commission is requested to adopt Resolution No. PSC 11- 0003 denying the request for green curb markings for 9600 Las Tunas Drive. Recommendation: adopt Resolution No. PSC 11-0003 6. PARKING / ADMINISTRATIVE CITATION HEARINGS Please note that the hearing is an informal proceeding and the rules of evidence required in a court trial do not apply. Hearing Procedures: • Please complete a speaker request form and submit it to the Public Safety Officer. • When your case is called, approach the podium and state your name and address for the record. • State whether or not you are the registered owner of the vehicle cited. If you are not the owner, please state your relationship to the owner. • If you have a witness testifying on your behalf, the witness may be asked to wait in the lobby until called by the Commission. • Present your case to the Commission. If you are submitting any documents or photographs relevant to your case, they will be retained by the City as part of the official file. • The Commission will render a decision to uphold or dismiss your citation. A written notification of the Commission’s decision will be mailed to you. • If your citation is upheld, you may appeal the decision of the Commission to the Los Angeles Superior Court – Alhambra Branch, Civil Division. DISCUSSION TO FINALIZE TRAFFIC ENGINEER GUIDELINES FOR CURB MARKINGS AND TIME LIMIT PARKING ZONES PUBLIC SAFETY COMMISSION AGENDA Page 3 February 23, 2011 The Public Safety Commission is requested to review and finalize the guidelines for curb markings and time limit parking zones. Presentation: Public Safety Officer Recommendation: Review and finalize the Traffic Engineer Guidelines. 8. NEW BUSINESS A. OVERNIGHT PARKING PERMIT HARDSHIP APPEAL FOR 5556 BALDWIN AVENUE AND 5640 NOEL DRIVE The Public Safety Commission is requested to review the hardship requests for additional permits and approve or deny the requests. Presentation: Public Safety Officer Recommendation: 1) Approve the request for one additional permit for 5556 Baldwin Avenue; and 2) Deny the request for one additional permit for 5640 Noel Drive. 9. COMMUNICATIONS - None 10. ADDITIONAL PUBLIC COMMENTS ON ITEMS NOT LISTED ON THE AGENDA The Public Safety Commission will now hear public comments regarding items not listed on the agenda.
