ORDINANCE N0. 440 OF THE CITY OF LYNtV00D, COn4-
INIONLY KNOFNN AS '�THE SALES TAX ORDINANCE" BY
ADDIIdG SECTIOId 21 3/4 THERETO.
' The City Council of the City of Lynwood does ordain

as follows:
Section 1: That a new aection known as Section 21 3/4 sha.11
be added to read as followa0
Section 21 3/4: Before any expenditures are made in
excess of the aum of $�10,000.00 with funds derived from this ordinance
for any public improvement program, capital outlay Stems, for aewer
work, drainage pro,]ecta or other public works or acquisitiona, a
resolution fixing a time for a public heering thereon ahall be
adopted and published in the Lynwoocl Prees, a newspaper published,
printed, and circulated in the City oP Lynwood, California. Said
___ ,
resolution ahall state the amount of the proposed expenditure, the
purpoae thereof, and set a time for a public hearing. thereon at no
� leas than twenty-eight (28) days from the adoption of said resolution.
At the time and place fixed Por said public hearing the Council shall
consider the deairability and feasibility of the proposed pro�ect
and expenditure and may adopt a resolution approving, modlfying,
or re,jecting the proposed pro,Ject rznd expenditure. The Council may
continue said hearings from time to time at its discretion. It is
the intent of this section to allow and provide for full public dis-
cuasion prior to making any expenditure in excesa of the sum of
�10,000.00 hereunder.
Section 2: The City Clerk snall certify to the passage
and adoption of this ordinance and shall cause the same to be pub-
lished once in the Lynwood Presa, a newspaper published, printed
and circulated in the City of Lynwood, California, and which said

newspaper ia hereby designated for that purpose.
