HomeMy Public PortalAboutOrd. 0479 • �'� u ORDINANCE NO 479 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LYNVTOOD APPROVING THE Aid?vT,RATION �' CERTAIN TERRITORY DESIGNATED AS °OZELL .MAIIOR. ° lY;�'StEAS� pursuant to the °Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939"� a petition was filed with the City Clerk and duly presented to the City Cwncil of the City of byrnvoal on May lt� 191t8 requesting the annexation to the City of bymvood of that certai.n uninhabited territory contiguous to the City of Lynvrood designated as "Ozell �anor" and hereinaPter particularly described; and lPHEREAS, by Resolution No. 2123 puUlished in the Lynwood Press on May 6 and May 13� 191�8, the City Council of the City of I dul;r gave notice of and £ixed the 15th day of June, 19Lt8 at 8 o�clock p.m. in the Cauncil Chambers in the City Hall� 11331 Plaza, E.ynwood, California, as the day� hour� and place when and where any person owning real property in such territory so i - � published to�be anne�ced and having any objection to the proposed annexation might appear_be£ore said Cit;� Caincil and shac cause why such territory should not be so annexed; and • . YdHEREAS, no protest has been £iled; and 1YHF,REAS, all proceedings have been in conformity with lawg NQJJ THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Ly�mrood does oxdain as follars; SECTION 1: That pursuant to the �LAnnexation of Unhabited Territoiy Act of 1939" the annexation of that certain unhabited territory contiguws to the_City of Iyvwood in the County o£ Los Angeles, State of California, designated as ��Ozell Manor° as hereinafter more particularly described hereby is apprwed. Said property is situated southerly o£ Carlin Averrue and easterly of Bullis Hoad and is included within the boundary line described as follaws: Beginning at the intersection of the westerly line of Bullis Hoad with the westerly prolongation of the northerly line of Carlin Avenue (33 £t. wide) as said Carlin Avenue e�ci.sts easterly of Bullis Road� said point being on the boundary line o£ the Cit� of Iyrnvood as said boundary line existed � f. � April 6, 19�8; thence easterly along said prolonged northerly line and the northerly line of Carlin Avenue, a distance of 1196.60 feet; thence South 18 degrees, 1�5 minutes, 1�5 seconds West parallel with the westerly line of said Bullis Road to the northerly line o£ Tract No. 11991� as shown on map recorded in Book 283� Pages 26 to 33 inclusive af Adaps� P.ecords of Los Angeles County, California; thence westerly along the northerly line o£ said last mentioned tract and its westerly prolongation to a point on the westerly line o£ Bullis xoad, said point being on the easterly boundary line of the City of Lyrnrood as said boundary line existed April 6, 1948; thence northerly alor� said easterly boundary line of the City of Lyruuood to the point of beginning. S�CTION 2: Th.is ordinance is urgently required £or the immediate preservation o£ public peace� health and safety in the City o£ Lyrm ood and shall be in e£fect immediately upon adoption. The foll wcing is a specific statement showing the emergency of this oxdinance: There is urgent need f or additional housing facilities in the city o£ Lyrnrood and the land proposed to be annexed b;/ the City will provide a suit— able area for the building o£ homes. Because the City of Lyrmood lacks areas suitable for subdivision purposes, the proposed annexation will help to fill a great need o£ +he City. Immediate enactment of this ordinance is necessary to insure the general wel£are and continued progress of the City of Lyrnvood. SECTICIN 3: The City Clerk shall certi£y to the adoption of thi.s oxdinance and shall cause same to be published once in the Lyrncood Press.
