AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL,
ACCEPTANCE, AND APPROPRIATION OF A GRANT FROM
THE INDIANA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION
WHEREAS, the Indiana Department of Transportation has federal grant funding available
through the U.S. Department of Transportation, Local Bridge Fund; and
WHEREAS, the City of Richmond desires to submit a grant application to the Indiana
Department of Transportation to receive a grant to assist with the demolition of
the South 9th Street bridge over the Indiana Eastern Railroad (Wayne County
Bridge #734); and
WHEREAS, a local match in the amount of One Hundred Twenty-nine Thousand Four Hundred
Dollars ($129,400.00) is required for this grant.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond,
Indiana, as follows:
1. The City of Richmond is hereby authorized to submit a grant application to the
Indiana Department of Transportation to assist with demolition of the South 9th
Street bridge over the Indiana Eastern Railroad (Wayne County Bridge #734).
2. The City of Richmond will provide the amount of $129,400.00 from EDIT funds
in order to meet the match required for the grant.
2. The City of Richmond is authorized to accept said grant funding in an amount up
to Five Hundred Seventeen Thousand Six Hundred Dollars ($517,600.00).
3. Said funds, if awarded to the City of Richmond, shall be appropriated for
assistance with the demolition of the South 9th Street bridge.
