CALL TO ORDER

The Special Council Meeting of October 24, 2005, was convened at 7:20 P.M. by Mayor
John Landwehr.
ROLL CAL
The following Council Members were present for the roll call:
Present: Brown, Crane, Ferguson, Harvey, Layton, Martin, Pope, and Vogel
Absent: Berry and Schnitzler
A quorum was declared present.
NEW BUSINESS
a) Appointment of Interim City Administrator
Mayor Landwehr discussed his recommendation of Nathan Nickolaus as Interim City
Administrator. He recommended a 20% increase in pay and an additional one week of
vacation if the appointment lasts four months or less, two weeks if it is longer. He also
recommended a bonus up to $2,000 upon Mr. Nickolaus achieving certain objectives.
Several relevant questions were asked related to the proposed appointment and the time
table for hiring a new City Administrator.
Councilman Pope moved and Councilman Harvey seconded appointing Nathan Nickolaus
as Interim City Administrator effective October 28, 2005, under the terms as described. The
motion passed unanimously.
A lengthy discussion ensued concerning the process for hiring a new City Administrator.

Councilman Pope moved and Councilman Crane seconded to adjourn at approximately
7:55 p.m. The motion passed unanimously.
