APPROVING CHANGE ORDER #1
2010 ROAD PROGRAM
SAHEREAS, the Governing Body of the Borough of Carteret has previously entered into
a contract with 2010 Road Program Project in an original contract bid amount of
$1,609,071.50; and
WHEREAS, the Borough's Consulting Engineer for the project, CME Associates, has
advised the Governing Body that a modification to said contract is necessary to reflect the
change of certain item quantities and to add certain supplernental work; and
WHEREAS, the Borough's Consulting Engineer has advised the Governing Body that
said modification was unforeseen at the time of the preparation of plans and
specifications and the bidding for the project; and
WHEREAS, the Borough's Consulting Engineer has recommended that the contract
with S. Brothers, Inc., be modified in accordance with Change Order No. 1, (See
attached Change Order #1), providing for a net increase in the original contract in the
amount of $27,926.12; and
MHEREAS, the Governing Body has reviewed the attached Change Order No. 1 and the
recommendation of the Borough Engineer.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Borough Council of the
Borough of Carteret, County of Middlesex, State of Nev Jersey, as follows:
That Contract Change Order No. 1, attached hereto and made a part
hereof, resulting in a net increase of $27,926.12 in the ovtrall contract
price, resulting in a revised contract price of $1,636,997.62, is hereby
approved.
2. That the appropriate Borough officials are hereby authorized to execute
Change Order No. 1 based upon the recommendation of the Borough
Engineer. `
That a copy of this Resolution and a fully executed copy of Change Order
No. 1 be forwarded to CDC Associates for distribution to S. Brothers,
Inc..

The change order is for additional work required by the Middlesex County Inspector
along Roosevelt Avenue and the installation of a hot mix asphalt walkway at Chrome
Park. The change order totals $61,866.12 resulting in an adjusted contract amount of
$1,670,937.62.
