AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL,
ACCEPTANCE, AND APPROPRIATION OF A GRANT FROM THE
U.S. DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY, FEDERAL
EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY
WHEREAS, The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has funding
available through its Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program; and
WHEREAS, The City of Richmond Fire Department desires to submit a grant
application to obtain funds in the amount of Seven Hundred Sixteen
Thousand Four Hundred Nine Dollars and Zero Cents ($716,409) for
salary and fringe benefits for four (4) firefighters for twenty-four (24)
months; and
WHEREAS, No local match is required.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of
Richmond, Indiana, as follows:
1. The City of Richmond is authorized to accept said grant funding in an amount
up to Seven Hundred Sixteen Thousand Four Hundred Nine Dollars and Zero Cents
($716,409).
2. Said grant funding shall be used for the salary and fringe benefits for four (4)
firefighters for twenty-four (24) months.
Passed and adopted this _4th day of _October 2010, by the Common
Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana.
