Minutes

COMMITTEE MEETING — Began at 5:00 p.m.
CALL TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL
Committee members Claire Remsberg (via phone), Dave Peugh, Craig Vroom, Susan
Farber, and Judy Drake were present. Also present was Delta James, Economic
Development Planner.
MINUTES APPROVAL
• July 24, 2019 [ACTION ITEM]
Judy moved, Susan seconded, a motion to approve the July 24, 2019 minutes without
revision. All members voted "aye" and the motion passed.
PUBLIC ART PROJECTS
• Lardo Bridge
• Installation timeline: Artwork is scheduled for installation on September 10.
• Dedication event: A brief dedication ceremony will be held in conjunction with
the ITD Board tour of McCall on September 11 near 3:00 pm.
• Downtown
• Debrief outcomes of July 26 work session with City Council: Committee
members expressed appreciation and optimism about City Council's support
for public art. Committee members recapped the direction provided by
Council:
o Community -engaged artwork selection process like the process used
for the Lardo Bridge project.
o Interactive and/or functional artwork is preferred.
• Define Call to Artists scope of services and project next steps: Committee
members determined that artist eligibility for the project should be artists from
Idaho, contiguous states, and artists with proven connection to Idaho.
Preference will be given to Idaho artists. Staff will draft Call to Artists for
committee review and then presentation to City Council.
• Maintenance and inventory of collection: Staff provided a condition report form and
committee members volunteered to visit public art sites to asses site and material
conditions.
NEXT MEETING
Staff will send out email inquiry of availability for next meeting during last week of
September.
