HomeMy Public PortalAbout20060203 BB work sessionCOUNCIL WORK SESSION FEBRUARY 3, 2006 CALL TO ORDER The February 3, 2006, "Brown Bag" Work Session was convened at 12:00 P.M. by Mayor John Landwehr. ATTENDANCE The following Council Members were present when the meeting convened: Present: Ferguson, Harvey, Layton, and Vogel Absent: Berry, Brown, Crane, and Pope Present by Telephone: Martin and Schnitzler A quorum was present. DISCUSSION OF AGENDA ITEMS Items were not necessarily discussed in order that they appeared on the agenda. Bill 2005 -116 (Bear Run cluster subdivision): Mayor John Landwehr explained the petitions opposing this development which were filed by adjoining property owners at the City Clerk's Office yesterday afternoon after the Council Packets had already been delivered. City Planner Janice McMillan explained the procedure for special exception user permits, and City Counselor Nathan Nickolaus stated he will be examining the documents filed by property owners to see if they legally qualify as valid petitions. He will let the Council know by Monday night's meeting what he finds out. Special Reports: Mayor John Landwehr announced that the special report scheduled to be made at the February 6 meeting regarding the Task Force on Neighborhood Improvement will be postponed to the February 20 meeting at the request of Councilman Cindy Layton and the committee members. New Business: Mayor John Landwehr asked Councilman Mike Harvey to explain what he will be discussing under New Business. Councilman Harvey explained his idea concerning addressing issues within the city one precinct at a time so that citizens can see the obvious progress being made. COUNCIL WORK SESSION FEBRUARY 3, 2006 Closed Session: City Counselor Nathan Nickolaus announced that there will be no need for a Closed Session Monday night after all. ADJOURNMENT: There being no other business brought forward, the meeting adjourned at 12:30 P.M.
