IONA COMMUNITY CENTER
September 12, 2018 6:30 P.M.
PRESENT: Member Dee Johnson, Member John Lott, Member James West, Member Shane
Harrigfeld, and Assistant Clerk Heather Marley.
ABSENT: Chairman Jake Lindsay.
VISITORS: David Hollis.
Acting Chairman West welcomed everyone and Member Harrigfeld led with the Pledge of
Allegiance.
Approval of Minutes: Acting Chairman West entertained a motion. Member Johnson moved to
approve the minutes for August 8, 2018 as written. Member Harrigfeld seconded the motion. All
in favor, motion carried.
Items of Business:
Public Hearing- David Hollis Variance Application- Located at 3143 N. Sagebrush Circle.
Mr. Hollis approached the podium and stated his name and address and reason for Variance
request. Mr. Hollis stated that at the time he questioned the building inspector about the code, it
was a 3 foot setback. He ordered the building kit and since then the setback has been changed to
5 feet. He tried to change his order to meet the new code but the company had already made the
order and it was too late to change it. Member Lott asked Mr. Hollis if he has contacted his
neighbors to make sure they approve of the Variance and Mr. Hollis said they do not have an
issue with it. Member Lott asked if the structure would have electrical, gas or plumbing and Mr.
Hollis said it would have Natural Gas and Electricity.
Member Lott moved to recommend to the City Council to approve the Variance. Member
Harrigfeld seconded the motion. All in favor, motion carried.
