CALL TO ORDER
The March 3, 2006, "Brown Bag" Work Session was convened at 12:05 P.M. by Mayor John
Landwehr.
ATTENDANCE
The following Council Members were present when the meeting convened:
Present: Brown, Harvey, Layton, Martin, Schnitzler (by phone until he arrived
at 12:15 P.M.), and Vogel
Absent: Berry, Crane, Ferguson, Pope,
A quorum was present.
DISCUSSION OF AGENDA ITEMS
Mayor John Landwehr announced there are one or two vacancies on the Library Board and
encouraged Council Members to refer any constituents who may be interested in serving
to City Hall to fill out a volunteer profile form.
BILLS:
2005 -158: Mayor John Landwehr asked if staff might want to consider changing the "shall"
to "may" in the bill. City Counselor Nathan Nickolaus said he would be able to make that
change.
2005 -160 and 2005 -161: Mayor John Landwehr stated staff has asked for these to be
removed from the agenda to allow some extra time to work out some details.
2005 -162: Councilman Kevin Brown asked why the demolition was initiated before asking
for the funding. Mayor John Landwehr suggested in the future that staff ask for funding
before the work has begun. Councilman Dean Martin stated he had asked staff to move
forward on these. Councilman Edith Vogel stated she believed the property owner needs
to participate in the cost of demolitions.
RESOLUTIONS:

RS2005 -17: Following questions, an amended resolution was requested that would change
the number of signatories from four to eight. Human Resources Director Gail Strope said
that would be prepared and distributed Monday night.
CLOSED SESSION:
City Counselor Nathan Nickolaus stated that the "litigation" category needs to be added to
the closed session.

There being no other business brought forward, the meeting adjourned at 12:35 P.M.
