CALL TO ORDER
The March 17, 2006, "Brown Bag" Work Session was convened at 12:05 P.M. by Mayor
John Landwehr.
ATTENDANCE
The following Council Members were present when the meeting convened:
Present: Brown, Crane, Harvey, Layton, Martin, and Vogel
Absent: Berry, Ferguson, Pope, and Schnitzler
A quorum was present.
DISCUSSION OF AGENDA ITEMS
PRESENTATIONS FROM STAFF & INVITED GUESTS:
Mayor John Landwehr asked Police Chief Roger Schroeder to make a presentation
regarding storm warning sirens in the near future, along with any recommendations if we
need to do anything to improve the system in any way.
BILLS:
2005 -166 - Mayor John Landwehr suggested that staff look at the issue of naming for the
new street in this bill to avoid any future problems.
2005 -168 - Mayor John Landwehr stated we need opportunities to discuss this some more
and wondered whether it needs to be discussed at a Council meeting or at the March 23
Public Works & Planning Committee meeting. The Council felt some kind of committee
meeting should be scheduled to discuss it. Councilman Dean Martin and Councilman Kevin
Brown will check with the other Council members and decide how they want to handle it.
2005 -163 - Councilman Kevin Brown stated this will be placed on the Informal Calendar.
NEW BUSINESS:
Mayor John Landwehr stated he would like the topic of tarping on pickup -size trucks to be

taken up and discussed at a Public Works & Planning Committee meeting. He asked
Councilman Dean Martin to put it on an agenda for that committee in the near future.
Mike Bates distributed maps, and Mr. George Hartsfield was present and explained a letter
which had been sent to staff and distributed at the beginning of this meeting. Mayor John
Landwehr stated that this information is associated with a public hearing that is scheduled
for Monday night's meeting and that it needs to be distributed and discussed at that time
as pat of that public hearing.
Councilman Edith Vogel announced the 44th annual Ice Show will be held this weekend at
the Jefferson City ice arena.
Councilman Brian Crane suggested recognizing the Lincoln University girls' track and field
team at an upcoming Council meeting since they just won a national championship.
