Present : Laurel Labdon , Judy Miller , Roberta Murphy , Denise Rego (alternate ) , Cindy
Bingham ( Select Board liaison )
1 . Come to order : Ms . Miller called the meeting to order at 2 . 10 pm at the
Brewster Police Department conference room .
2 . Secretary's Report : It was moved , seconded , and unanimously voted to approve
the minutes of the November 16 , 2018 committee meeting .
3 . New Business : There was a lengthy discussion about future projects and goals
for the committee . These included . ways to ' incentivize' businesses to improve
accessibility; working with the Chamber of Commerce to highlight accessible
businesses; making a list of accessible restaurants , and ways to improve the
accessibility of Historical Society tours .
It was suggested that Kyle Hinkle from the Chamber of Commerce be invited
to the March Meeting ,
The Historical Society has already set their 2019 schedule of events , so any
suggested changes would be for 2020 .
4 . Old Business : Ms . Miller reported that Mark O' Brien obtained a quote of
$ 6969 .00 for installation of the 3 automatic doors at The Captains Golf Course .
There was a discussion regarding the use of remaining funds for other projects
i . e . Ellsworth Pavilion handicap ramp repairs and handrail replacement . That will
depend on the wording of the warrant article .
Ms . Labdon reported that the ADA units at Brewster Woods are fully accessible.
Modifications include roll - in showers and lower counters . She suggested to the
Housing Authority that the units be on the ground level .
5 . Items for next meeting's agenda :
Ms . Rego will report on the warrant article used to fund the automatic door
Project. She will also review the list of accessible restaurants done several years
ago .
Ms . Miller will report on the status of the automatic door project at The Captains .
6 . Name February Chairperson : Ms . Carstanjen will be asked to chair the
meeting .
7 . Other business not anticipated by the chair : A member commented that the
hcp . parking signs at the rear of Town Hall are not placed correctly and need to be
repositioned . Ms . Miller will contact Tom Thatcher regarding the signs .
Next meeting : February 15 , 2019 at 2pm at the Brewster Police Facility .
The meeting was adjourned at 3 . 00 pm .
