HomeMy Public PortalAbout19-9672 Purchase of Office FurnitureSponsored by: City Manager RESOLUTION NO.19-9672 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO PURCHASE OFFICE FURNITURE FROM AN APPROVED FURNITURE VENDOR OF THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF MANAGEMENT SERVICES IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED SIX THOUSAND DOLLARS ($6,000.00) AND TO APPOINT A COMMISSION REPRESENTATIVE TO WORK WITH THE PROCUREMENT DIRECTOR FOR THE SELECTION OF OFFICE FURNITURE; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE WHEREAS, upon affirmative vote taken by the State of Florida Department of Management Services, a contract was executed between the State of Florida and designated contractors for the provision of Office Furniture and files pertaining to ITB: 17-425-001-F; and WHEREAS, the City is in need of conference furniture, including chairs for the Mayor and City Commissioners, constituents and the general public; and WHEREAS, utilizing the state contract will provide economies of scale in the purchase of needed office furniture for the City; and WHEREAS, the amount projected for the furniture shall not exceed an amount of Six Thousand Dollars ($6,000.00) and be purchased by the City Manager utilizing a an applicable vendor from the Florida Department of Management Services contract for furniture purchases; and WHEREAS, the City Commission desires to appoint Commissioner Bass as the City Commission representative to work in conjunction with the Procurement Director of the City of Opa-Locka for the selection of the type of office furniture available from the list of approved furniture providers and as available from the Florida Department of Management Services; and WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Opa-Locka finds that this purchase of office furniture would be within the best interest of the City residents. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Resolution No. 19-9672 Section 1. Adoption of Representations. The foregoing "Whereas" clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution. Section 2. Authorization of City Administrator. The City Commission of the City of Opa-Locka, Florida hereby authorizes the City Manager to purchase office furniture utilizing an approved vendor from the Florida Department of Management Services contract for office furniture (ITB: 17-425-001-F) in an amount not to exceed Six Thousand ($6,000.00). Section 3. Appointing Commission Representative. The City Commission hereby appoints Commissioner Bass as the City Commission representative to work in conjunction with the Procurement Director of the City of Opa-Locka for the selection of the type of office furniture available from the list of approved furniture providers and as available from the Florida Department of Management Services. Section 4. Effective Date. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption, and is subject to the approval of the State of Florida Financial Oversight Board.
