AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL,
ACCEPTANCE, AND APPROPRIATION OF A GRANT FROM THE
INDIANA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION
WHEREAS, The Indiana Department of Transportation has grant funding available through its
Indiana Transportation Enhancement Program; and
WHEREAS, the City of Richmond wishes to submit a grant application to obtain funds that
will be used to acquire the CSX Railroad corridor from South Fifth Street to
Richmond Avenue; and
WHEREAS, a local match of Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000.00) is required.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond,
Indiana, as follows:
1. The City of Richmond is hereby authorized to submit a grant application to the
Indiana Department of Transportation, Transportation Enhancement Program.
2. The City of Richmond is authorized to accept said grant funding in an amount up to
Two Hundred Thousand Dollars ($200,000.00).
3. The City of Richmond is hereby authorized to provide local funds in an amount up to
Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000.00).
4. Said funds, if awarded to the City of Richmond, shall be appropriated to acquire the
CSX Railroad corridor from South Fifth Street to Richmond Avenue.
Passed and adopted this _3rd_ day of January 2006, by the Common Council of the City
of Richmond, Indiana.
