HomeMy Public PortalAbout20060714 BB work sessionCOUNCIL WORK SESSION JULY 14, 2006 1 CALL TO ORDER The July 14, 2006, "Brown Bag" Work Session was convened at 12:05 P.M. by President Pro Tempore Brian Crane in the absence of Mayor John Landwehr. ATTENDANCE The following Council Members were present when the meeting convened: Present: Brown, Crane, Harvey, Martin, and Vogel Absent: Berry, Ferguson, Layton, Schnitzler, and Pope A quorum was not present. DISCUSSION OF AGENDA ITEMS Informal Calendar: 2006 -28: Councilman Dean Martin stated that he plans to remove this from the Informal Calendar and vote on it at Monday night's meeting. Bills Introduced: 2006 -32: Councilman Kevin Brown asked why 2006 -32 was pulled off the agenda. Police Chief Roger Schroeder stated it was because his department and the Finance Department are still working out some details and at the time the Council packet was being prepared for distribution, those details had not yet been worked out. 2006 -36: Councilman Kevin Brown had questions regarding storm water in association with this. He asked to receive some information on that in case he receives calls on it. 2006 -38: Following discussion and questions by the Council, City Administrator Steve Rasmussen will ask Councilman Bryan Pope if he intended to include the Mayor's term limits as well. Resolutions: RS2006 -9: Mr. Aaron March from White -Goss law Firm in Kansas City, MO was present to COUNCIL WORK SESSION JULY 14, 2006 2 explain the memorandum of understanding and answer any questions about it. RS2006 -11: Councilman Kevin Brown asked if the Downtown Association had had an opportunity for input into this issue. City Administrator Steve Rasmussen stated he did not believe they had, but as Councilman Jonathon Schnitzler had asked that this appear on the July 17 agenda, there was not time to bring it before the Downtown Association first. He indicated he will try to get as much information as he can to the Association before Monday night's meeting. ADJOURNMENT: There being no other business brought forward, the meeting adjourned at 12:40 P.M.
