AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE AND
APPROPRIATION OF A GRANT FROM THE
INDIANA OFFICE OF RURAL AFFAIRS
WHEREAS, The Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as amended,
authorizes the Indiana Office of Rural Affairs to provide Five Hundred
Twenty Five Thousand Dollars and Zero Cents ($525,000.00) in grant
funding through its Community Development Block fund; and
WHEREAS, the City of Richmond has submitted a grant application to obtain the funds
on behalf of Achieva Resources, Inc.; and
WHEREAS, the funds obtained will be used for community development by Achieva
Resources Inc.; and
WHEREAS, a local match is required and will be met through donations from Achieva
Resources, Inc., in an amount up to Four Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars
and Zero Cents ($450,000.00).
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of
Richmond, Indiana, as follows:
1. The City of Richmond is hereby authorized to accept from the Indiana Office of
Rural Affairs, Community Development Block Grant funding in an amount up to Five
Hundred Twenty Five Thousand Dollars and Zero Cents ($525,000.00).
2. The City of Richmond is hereby authorized to accept local match funds in an
amount up to Four Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars and Zero Cents ($450,000.00)
through donations provided by Achieva Resources, Inc.
3. Said funds, as awarded to the City of Richmond, shall be appropriated for
community development.

the City of Richmond, Indiana.
