CALL TO ORDER
1
The July 14, 2006, "Brown Bag" Work Session was convened at 12:00 P.M. by President
Pro Tempore Brian Crane in the absence of Mayor John Landwehr.
ATTENDANCE
The following Council Members were present when the meeting convened:
Present: Brown, Crane, Harvey, Layton, and Vogel
Absent: Berry, Ferguson, Martin, and Pope
A quorum was not present.
DISCUSSION OF AGENDA ITEMS
Presentations:
City Counselor Nathan Nickolaus indicated that two persons will be making presentations
under "Presentations from Staff and Invited Guests" Monday night: Mr. Gilbert Cole from
Missouri American Water, and Rick Graham from Allied Waste. Councilman Cindy Layton
indicated that Mike Berendzen should also be added to that category as he is going to
making the final report of the Taskforce On Neighborhood Improvements.
Bills Introduced:
2006 -42: Councilman Edith Vogel had questions about 2006 -42 which City Counselor
Nathan Nickolaus and Councilman Cindy Layton answered.
2006 -51: Councilman Brian Crane asked City Counselor Nathan Nickolaus questions about
the parties involved. City Counselor Nathan Nickolaus stated he will check into it and get
the information to the Council.
Bills Pending:
2006 -29: Councilman Mike Harvey stated he thinks the Council may want to look at setting
up guidelines which would limit the number of consecutive years an auditing company may
audit the city.

Nominations of Ward Two Councilmember:
Following discussion, Councilman Edith Vogel stated she would like that item to remain on
the agenda for Monday night so the nominations can be made, and asked the Council to
set the election for the first meeting in September since both she and Councilman Dean
Martin will be absent at the August 21 Council Meeting.
