A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COT]NCIL OF THE
VILLAGE OF KEY BISCAYNE, FLORIDA, ACCEPTING
THE SOUTHEAST FLORIDA REGIONAL CLIMATE
CHANGE COMPACT'S SEA LEVEL RISE PROJECTION
REPORT; PROVIDING FOR UTILIZATION OF THE
REPORT WHERE PRACTICABLE; AND PROVIDING FOR
AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Village of Key Biscayne ("Village") is experiencing disruption due to
climate change through increased intensity and frequency of hurricanes, flooding, water quality
issues, and other climatic events; and
WHEREAS, the Southeast Florida Regional Climate Change Compact (the "Compact")
recently issued its Unified Sea Level Rise Projection for Southeast Florida Report ("Sea Level
Rise Report") to assist local and regional governments in identifying and incorporating climate
change resilient construction designs; and
WHEREAS, on June 30,2020,the Compact's Sea Level Rise Report was presented to the
village Council at a virtual Resiliency Town Hall for its consideration; and
WHEREAS, the Village Council desires that Village staff consider the Sea Level Rise
Report when designing and planning resiliency infrastructure improvements where practicable;
and
WHEREAS' the Village Council finds that this Resolution is in the best interest and
welfare of the residents and property owners of the Village.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE
VILLAGE OF KEY BISCAYNE, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Recitals. That each of the above-stated recitals are hereby adopted,
confirmed, and incorporated herein.

Section 2. Acceotins Sea Level Rise Report. That the Village Council hereby accepts
the Compact's Sea Level Rise Report.
Section 3. Utilization of Sea Level Rise Report. That the Village Council hereby
supports the utilization of the Sea Level Rise Report by Village staff where practicable when
designing and planning resilient construction and when evaluating zoning code adaptations.
Section 4. Effective DS-te. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon
adoption.
