CALL TO ORDER

The September 1, 2006, "Brown Bag" Work Session was convened at 12:00 P.M. by Mayor
John Landwehr.
ATTENDANCE
The following Council Members were present when the meeting convened:
Present: Brown, Crane, Ferguson, Harvey, Layton, Martin, and Vogel
Absent: Berry and Pope
A quorum was present.
DISCUSSION OF AGENDA ITEMS
Election of Ward Two Councilman:
Councilman Cindy Layton stated she wanted to ask each of the candidates whether they
intend to file to run for office at the end of their unexpired term. Following discussion, Mayor
John Landwehr stated he would contact the two candidates to get an answer to that
question and share it with the Council before Tuesday night's meeting.
Appointments:
Mayor John Landwehr stated that he intended to appoint the newly - elected Ward Two
Councilman to the same boards and liaison positions as former Councilman Jonathon
Schnitzler. He stated that Councilman Cindy Layton has indicated her desire to serve on
the Economic Development Advisory Board because of her current affiliation with the
Chamber of Commerce and CVB.
Informal Calendar:
2006 -43: City Administrator Steve Rasmussen stated, in City Planner Janice McMillan's
absence, that he believed Janice wanted this to remain on the Informal Calendar.
Discussion was held regarding this issue.
Reports:

Mayor John Landwehr asked the City Clerk to place a final report from Councilman Brian
Crane on behalf of the JCTV Steering Committee on the September 18 Council agenda.
Councilman Cindy Layton stated she would like to get some direction from the Council
regarding the final report given by the Taskforce On Neighborhood Improvement. She
stated that the committee's work is done, and that it is now up to the Council to determine
what to do with the issues identified in that report.
