FEBRUARY 20, 2019 RECOMMENDATION: The City Council is requested to receive and file the Parks and Recreation Commission actions from their meeting of February 20, 2019. BACKGROUND: On February 20, 2019, the Parks and Recreation Commission held their regularly scheduled meeting. ANALYSIS: Following is a summary of actions taken at the February 20, 2019 Parks and Recreation Commission meeting: 1 . ROLL CALL: Present: Commissioner-Baroldi, Rosso, Tarin, Vice-Chairman Vance, Chairman Haddad Absent: Commissioner -None Excused: Commissioner -None 2. CONSENT CALENDAR The Parks and Recreation Commission approved the minutes of the January 16, 2019 meeting and received and filed the Monthly Report for January 2019. City Council March 5, 2019 Page 2 of 2 3. NEW BUSINESS A. REVIEW OF TRANSPORTATION SERVICES AVAILABLE TO TEMPLE CITY RESIDENTS The Commission received and filed the information provided regarding the various transportation programs. Topics discussed included services provided by Southland Transit Inc., for Dial-A-Ride (DAR) transportation services and DAR survey results; bus shelter maintenance; bus pass sales; recreation transit; a potential rideshare program provided by Lyft; and Proposition A and Proposition C funding. The Commission is not recommending changes to any of the current transportation programs at this time. 4. UPDATE FROM PARKS AND RECREATION DIRECTOR A. The Commission received the Parks and Recreation Director's Report for the month of February 2019. CITY STRATEGIC GOALS: Reviewing the Commission actions of February 20, 2019 furthers the City's Strategic Goal of Citizen Education and Communication. FISCAL IMPACT: This item does not have an impact on the Fiscal Year (FY) 2018-19 City Budget.
