SUBJECT: ADOPTION OF RESOLUTION NO. 19-5389 CONFIRMING MAYOR'S APPOINTMENT OF COUNCILMEMBERS TO SERVE AS DELEGATES AND ALTERNATES TO OTHER AGENCIES OR ORGANIZATIONS RECOMMENDATION: The City Council is requested to adopt Resolution No . 19-5389 (Attachment "A") confirming Mayor's appointment of Councilmembers to serve as delegates and alternates to other agencies or organizations. BACKGROUND: On March 19, 2019, the City Council reorganized and seated a new Mayor Nanette Fish and Mayor Pro Tern Tom Chavez . ANALYSIS: Each year after the City Council reorganizes, and with City Council input, the Mayor reviews and selects representative delegates and alternates to other governmental agencies and/or organizations . A listing of those organizat ions is attached as an exh ibit (Exhibit 1) to the proposed resolution. Regular meeting days and times are indicated for each organization , as well as those agencies that pay a stipend for meeting attendance and have conflict of interest reporting requirements. Councilmembers serving as the delegate to these governmental agencies and/or organizations attend regularly scheduled meetings to discuss and make recommendations regarding issues that may affect cities in the Los Angeles County . Delegates to these governmental agencies and/or organizations also have the official City Council April 16, 2019 Page 2 of 2 voting responsibilities. CITY STRATEGIC GOALS: Approval of Mayor's appointment of Councilmembers representing City of Temple City at meetings of other governmental agencies or community organizations will ensure City's Strategic Goal of Good Governance. FISCAL IMPACT: This item does not have a fiscal impact on the Fiscal Year (FY) 2018-19 C ity Budget. ATTACHMENT: A. Resolution No. 19-5389 ATTACHMENT A RESOLUTION NO. 19-5389 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY MAKING APPOINTMENTS TO VARIOUS OUTSIDE AGENCIES AND CITY COUNCIL COMMITTEES WHEREAS, by virtue of their position as a City Councilmember, the Councilmembers are elig i ble to serve on various committees ; WHEREAS, the Mayor has requested and received informat ion from various Councilmembers on their interest in serving on various committees; WHEREAS, the Mayor has presented his recommendations for the various C ity Council committee appointments and, WHEREAS, the C ity Council has reviewed said recommendations . NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY DOES HEREBY RESOLVE : SECTION 1. The appointments contained on Exhibit "1" fo r the various City Coun c il committees are hereby made ; and , SECTION 2. Appointments are effective upon passage of this resolution and shall continue until the next regularly scheduled selection of Mayor of the City of Temple City .
