RECOMMENDATION:
The City Council is requested to receive and file the Planning Commission
(Commission) actions from their meeting of April 23, 2019.
BACKGROUND:
On April 23, 2019, the Commission held their regularly scheduled meeting .
ANALYSIS:
The following is a summary of actions taken at the April 23, 2019, meeting :
1. ROLL CALL :
Present: Commissioner-Cordes , Haddad, Marston , Chair O'Leary
Absent: Commissioner-Vice-Chair Lee
Excused: Commissioner-None
2. CONSENT CALENDAR
The Commission approved the minutes from their regular meeting of April 9, 2019 .
3. PUBLIC HEARING

A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT TO ALLOW A BUSINESS TO OPERATE
BETWEEN MIDNIGHT AND 6:00A.M. THE PROPOSED BUSINESS IS FOR AN
18,334 SQUARE-FOOT FITNESS CENTER LOCATED IN THE CAMELLIA
SQUARE SHOPPING CENTER THE BUSINESS IS REQUESTING TO
OPERATE 24 HOURS A DAY, SEVEN DAYS A WEEK.
The Commission voted 4-0 to approve file 18-1636, and adopt the attached
resolution finding that the project is exempt from CEQA, subject to the proposed
recommended conditions of approval.
4. PUBLIC HEARING
A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A DANCE STUDIO IN
THE CITY CENTER COMMERCIAL DISTRICT
The Commission voted 4-0 to approve file 19-1696, and adopt the attached
resolution finding that the project is exempt from CEQA, subject to the proposed
recommended conditions of approval.

8. UPDATE FROM THE PLANNING MANAGER
Planning Manager Reimers reminded the Planning Commission that the Zoning
Code Update Amendments have been scheduled for the Planning Commission
meeting of May 14, 2019.
9. ADJOURNMENT
The Commission meeting was adjourned at 8:23 p.m.
CITY STRATEGIC GOALS:
Reviewing the Commission actions of April 23, 2019, furthers the City's Strategic Goal
of Citizen Education and Communication.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This item does not have an impact on the Fiscal Year 2018-19 City Budget
