JUNE 6, 2019
1. CALL TO ORDER

ITEM 7.A-4.
Mayor Fish called the City Council Special Meeting to order at 7 :16p.m. in the Council
Chambers located at 5938 Kauffman Avenue , Temple City .
2. ROLL CALL
PRESENT: Counci lmember -Man , Yu , Chavez , Fish
ABSENT: Councilmember -Sternquist
ALSO PRESENT: City Manager Cook , Assistant to the City Manager/Economic
Development Manager Haworth , Community Development
Director Forbes , Public Safety Supervisor Ariizum i, Parks and
Recreation Director Burroughs , Parks and Recreat ion Manager
Lawson , Administrative Services Director Paragas , Accountant
Ma and City Clerk Kuo
Mayor Pro Tem Chavez made a motion to excuse Councilmember Sternquist.
Seconded by Councilmember Man .

4. DISCUSSION ITEM
A. FISCAL YEAR 2019-2020 PROPOSED ANNUAL BUDGET
The Proposed Budget for Fiscal Year 2019-20 focuses on creating a roadmap for
ma i ntaining the financ ial stability of the community into the future while balancing
current needs .
City Manager Cook gave a brief introduction of the Proposed FY 20 19-20 City
Budget.
Adm in istrative Services Director Paragas provided a summary of the proposed
C ity Budget for FY 2019-20 focusing on the General Fund Budget and City-Wide
Budget.
C ity Council made comments and asked questions regarding the proposed city
budget.

City Council commented on making a note on the City's budget to represent re-
occurring costs even if it is not being incurred every year (i .e ., election cost) so
that the budget doesn 't fluctuate so much from year to year.
City Council directed staff to increase the budget for the Youth Committee
Program from $2000 to $2 ,500 and $10 ,500 to $11 ,000 for the City 's Sister Cities
Program .
City Council directed staff to evaluate the allowed uses for Measure M fund and
see how we can integrate Measure M funding into the City 's budget for parks,
Safe Clean Water Program , Capital Improvement Projects , etc .
City Council commented on establishing milestones to guide Chamber of
Commerce in regards to economic development.
5. ADJOURNMENT
The Special City Council meeting was adjourned at 9 :16p.m .
