MEMORANDUM DATE: July 2, 2019 TO: The Honorable City Council FROM: Bryan Cook, City Manager By: Cathy Burroughs, Director of Parks and Recreation c/0 SUBJECT : PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION ACTIONS -MEETING OF JUNE 19, 2019 RECOMMENDATION: The City Council is requested to receive and file the Parks and Re c reation Commission actions from their meeting of June 19 , 2019 . BACKGROUND: On June 19, 2019, the Parks and Recreation Commission held their regularly scheduled meeting . ANALYSIS: Following is a summary of actions taken at the June 19, 2019 Parks and Recreation Commission meeting: 1 . ROLL CALL: Present: Commissioner-Barold i, Rosso , Tarin , Vice-Chairman Vance, Chairman Haddad Absent: Commissioner -None Excused: Commissioner-None 2 . CONSENT CALENDAR The Parks and Recreation Commission approved the minutes of the May 15 , 2019 meeting and received and filed the Monthly Report for May 2019. City Council July 2 , 2019 Page 2 of 2 3 . NEW BUSINESS A. REQUEST FROM THE ASIAN BREASTFEEDING TASK FORCE OF GREATER LOS ANGELES TO DISPLAY PHOTOGRAPHS OF BREASTFEEDING MOTHE RS AUGUST 1 -31 , 2019 AT THE LIVE OAK PARK COMMUNITY CENTER The Commission reviewed and approved a request from the Asian Breastfeeding Task Force of Greater Los Angeles to display photographs of breastfeeding mothers August 1 -31 , 2019 at the Live Oak Park Community Center. The quantity of 17"x24" photographs of breastfeeding mothers to be d i splayed at the Live Oak Park Community Center will be determ i ned by staff. 4. UPDATE FROM PARKS AND RECREATION DIRECTOR A . The Commission received the Parks and Recreation Director's Report for the month of June 2019 . CITY STRATEGIC GOALS: Reviewing the Commission actions of June 19, 2019 furthers the City's Strategic Goal of Citizen Education and Communication. FISCAL IMPACT: This item does not have an impact on the Fiscal Year (FY) 2018-19 City Budget.
