worthy of a recommendation to the Council which they will make

job. The Director of Recreation was instructed to check these
prices again, to see if there was any discount to cities etc.,
and to get a firm for the electrical installation costs,
and to present the figures at the August 19th Commission meeting.
This information was to pertain to the size 72 x 42 anodized
aluminum bill board, illuminated with fluorescent lights at top
and bottom and with plexiglass and weatherized. The above motion
was stated by Commissioner Gunst as follows: "I moved that Mr.
Kobett be instructed to find out the exact cost of installing the
72 x 42 bill board with lights, posts, and electrical costs, the
whole package including letters, and bring it back to this Commis-

one to attend if possible, and to so advise him so that he could
make the necessary reservations.
Mr. Kobett also advised he had been approached by the Santa Anit
Bowl about organizing a Jr. Bowling program which would start on
July 11, 1964 at 2 P. M. and continue each successive Tuesday
for a six week period for both boys and girls from 10 yrs. of age.
He explained in detail the program offered. The Commission dis-
cussed the pros and cons of such a program and felt that the
local bowling alley should be contacted and apprised of what has
been offered and see if they could make a similar offer in an
effort to keep the business in Temple City. No action was taken
at this time but the Director was requested to pursue this fur-
ther for later consideration.
Commissioner Adams asked if anyone had checked further on an area
for a park in northern Temple City as he felt the Commission
should push very strongly for it, to which they all agreed and
will investigate and study properties that might be available for
such a development.
Mr. Kobett suggested the August meeting of the Commission on the
19th be held at Live Oak Park with some sort of program showing
the Commission some of the activities of the department as well
as craft work. The Commission felt this was a fine idea.
