AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL,
ACCEPTANCE, AND APPROPRIATION OF A GRANT FROM THE
ASSISTANCE TO FIREFIGHTERS GRANT PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the Department of Homeland Security has funding available through its
Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program; and
WHEREAS, the City of Richmond Fire Department desires to submit a grant application to
obtain funds that will be used to procure: (1) six emergency facility generators;
(2) a 12 foot rescue boat; and (3) 12-800 MHz portable radios and 12-800 MHz
mobile radios; and
WHEREAS, a ten percent (10%) local match is required.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana,
as follows:
1. The City of Richmond is authorized to accept said grant funding in an amount up to
Two Hundred Forty Seven Thousand Five Hundred Dollars and Zero Cents ($247,500.00).
2. The City of Richmond, Indiana hereby commits to provide local funds from the
Cumulative Capital Development Fund in an amount up to Twenty Seven Thousand Five
Hundred Dollars and Zero Cents ($27,500.00) (10% of the total grant amount of $275,000.00) as
matching for said grant.
3. Said grant funding shall be used to procure: (1) six emergency facility generators; (2)
a 12 foot rescue boat; and (3) 12-800 MHz portable radios and 12-800 MHz mobile radios.
Passed and adopted this _20th_ day of _March 2006, by the Common Council of the City
of Richmond, Indiana.
