AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL,
ACCEPTANCE, AND APPROPRIATION OF A GRANT FROM THE
PARTNERSHIP FOR A DRUG FREE WAYNE COUNTY
WHEREAS, The Partnership for a Drug Free Wayne County has grant funding
available; and
WHEREAS, the City of Richmond Police Department desires to submit a grant
application to obtain funds that will be used to offset costs for K-9
equipment, training for handler and K-9 to purchase educational materials
to be handed out at public presentations on the use of K-9's; to offset costs
for attendance at the National Association of Drug Diversion Investigators
conference and to purchase a LCD digital projector and notebook
computer for community education programs and to purchase a
permanently installed LCD projector for training of officers within the
squad room; and
WHEREAS, no local match is required.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of
Richmond, Indiana, as follows:
1. The City of Richmond Police Department is hereby authorized to submit a
grant application to the Partnership for a Drug Free Wayne County.
2. The City of Richmond Police Department is authorized to accept said grant
funding in an amount up to Twenty Thousand One Hundred Thirty -Five Dollars and Zero
Cents ($20,135.00).
3. Seven Thousand Five Hundred Sixty Dollars ($7,560.00) of said funds, if
awarded to the City of Richmond Police Department, shall be appropriated for K-9
equipment, training for handler and K-9 and to purchase educational materials to be
handed out at public presentations on the use of K-9's.
4. Nine Thousand Seventy -Five Dollars ($9,075.00) of said funds, if awarded to
the City of Richmond Police Department, shall be appropriated to offset costs for
attendance at the National Association of Drug Diversion Investigators conference and to
purchase a LCD digital projector and notebook computer for community education
programs.
5. Three Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($3,500.00) of said funds, if awarded to
the City of Richmond Police Department, shall be appropriated to purchase a permanently
installed LCD projector for training of officers within the squad room.
Passed and adopted this _20st_ day of _March 2006, by the Common Council of
the City of Richmond, Indiana.
