ORDINANCE ANNEXING CERTAIN CONTIGUOUS LANDS INTO THE CITY OF
RICHMOND
WHEREAS, the boundary of the City of Richmond, Indiana is contiguous to the real estate
described herein, and
WHEREAS, on April 24, 2006, a Petition for Annexation Into the City of Richmond, Indiana
was filed by the owners of said real estate requesting annexation of the area
pursuant to Indiana Code 36-4-3-5.1.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF RICHMOND, WAYNE COUNTY, INDIANA, that:
Section. 1 The following described real estate be, and the same is, hereby annexed to
and declared a part of the City of Richmond, Wayne County, Indiana, to -wit:
Situated in the Northeast Quarter, Section 12, Township 13 North, Range 2 West,
and the Northwest Quarter, Section 7, Township 13 North, Range 1 West, Wayne
Township, Wayne County, Indiana, being more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at the northwest corner, Northwest Quarter of said Section 7;
Thence South 89' 50' 28" East 1193.40 feet along the north line of said
Northwest Quarter, also being an existing corporation line;
Thence South 00' 04' 40" East 2000.47 feet along the east line of said tract;
Thence South 89' 55' 20" West 1266.22 feet, entering into the Northeast Quarter
of Section 12, Township 13 North, Range 2 West, to a point;
Thence North 00' 04' 40" West 578.08 feet, to a point;
Thence North 50' 32' 14" East 65.78 feet, to a point on the west line of the
Northwest Quarter of Section 7;
Thence North 00' 49' 47" East 1378.75 feet along said west line, to the point of
beginning, containing 56.232 acres, more or less, being 55.605 acres, more or
less, in Section 7, Township 13 North Range 1 West and being 0.627 acre, more
or less, in Section 12, Township 13 North, Range 2 West, as shown on Drawing
No. D-656, dated 30th March 2006.
Said real estate shall be assigned to City Council District 6, subject to any later reapportionment.
Section. 2 Be it further ordained that the boundary of the City of Richmond, Indiana
is hereby extended to include all of the real estate described above as part of the City of
Richmond, Wayne County, Indiana.
Section. 3 This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage
by the Common Council and its approval by the Mayor of the City of Richmond, Indiana and
publication in accordance with the law.
Passed and Adopted by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Wayne County,
Indiana, upon this _19th day of _June , 2006.
