(BUDGET COMMITTEE)
CALL TO ORDER
The Council Budget Committee Work Session meeting of August 30, 2011, was convened
at 5:35 P.M. by Councilman Rich Koon, Finance Committee Chairman.
ATTENDANCE
The following Council Members were present:
Present: Bray, Carroll (arrived at 5:40 P.M), Griffith, Harvey, Koon, Luebbert,
Pope, Schulte, Scrivner (arrived at 5:35 P.M.), Weber
Absent: None
Also Present: Mayor Eric Struemph
A quorum was present.
DISCUSSION
Reports and Discussion:
Finance Director Steve Schlueter reported that the two percent (2 %) increase previously
thought to be needed for health insurance costs will not be needed.
Finance Director Steve Schlueter reported that the LAGERS funding needed for fire fighters
would be about $1,660,000 per year.
*Councilman Bob Scrivner arrived at this point in the meeting (5:35 P.M.)
Discussion was held regarding whether to eliminate the amount of the vacancy savings for
the City Administrator position from the budget line item.
*Councilwoman Carrie Carroll arrived at this point in the meeting. (5:40 P.M.)
Parking Lot Items:
1. City Administrator Vacancy Savings - Councilman Shawn Schulte made a motion
to keep the City Administrator position in the budget at $184,910, seconded by

Councilman Bryan Pope, and defeated.
Councilman Bob Scrivner made a motion to leave the City Administrator position in
the budget at $0, seconded by Councilman Bryan Pope, and approved.
2. Vacancy Savings in General - Councilman Bryan Pope moved that the vacancy
savings revert to the average of the last two years, which would be $262,000, with
the understanding that the number could be moved throughout the entire budget
process, seconded by Councilwoman Carrie Carroll, and approved.
3. Chamber of Commerce Funding - Councilman Bob Scrivner made a motion that
was seconded by Councilman Bob Weber to remove the Chamber of Commerce
funding for discussion purposes. Motion was approved.
ADJOURNMENT
Motion was made by Councilman Dave Griffith for adjournment, seconded by Councilman
Bob Scrivner, and approved unanimously at 7:28 P.M.
