Town Commission Held October 12, 1957

J. R. Fountain, Deputy Town Clerk
Mr. William LaPorte and Mr. John G. Hart were also in
attendance. The minutes of the commission meeting held on Sept-14,
1957 were read approved and adopted.
J. R. Fountain reported bank balances as of September 30,
1957 as follows:
General Account 05,987.31
Water Account 69745.22
Reserve Account 6,581.63
Payments from the General Account for September, 1957 were
on checks numbered 215 through 258 and totaled 0,369.36. Pay-
ments from the Water Account were on checks numbered 120 through
125 and totaled $699.98. All of the above payments were unanimously
approved.
J. R. Fountain read the letter from the secretary of the
Palm Beach Municipal Association announcing the meeting to be
held at the George Washington Hotel in West Palm Beach on
October 17, 1957 at 7 P. M. Mr. Koch said that he expected to
be in West Palm Beach on the 17th and that he would attend, if
possible.
J. R. Fountain reported that the expenses to date for the
wages paid the additional help employed by the Town for assisting
in the tree trimming work amounted to $993.75. Mr. Koch recom-
mended that the Town dismiss the temporary help and that the
Town request the State Road Department to send men to sweep and
clean AIA. Mayor Lindsay appointed Mr. Koch to check into this
matter.
J. R. Fountain pointed out a few repairs needed on the Town
Hall. Mr. Koch moved that J. R. Fountain have the necessary
repairs attended to. Mr. Pope seconded and the motion carried
unanimously.
Mr. Pope asked that the Commissioners consider the possibility
of the Town employing a man to oversee and supervise the chlorinating
of the Town water, the pick -up of trash, the cleaning of streets
and dangerous corners and garbage pick -up. Mayor Lindsay said
that with the continued growth of the Town it might be necessary
for the town to employ a new man in the future.
Mr. Koch made a motion that the salary of Melton Partin be
increased by $15.00 per month, beginning on October 1, 1957. Mr.
Pope seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
