The minutes of the Town Commission meeting held on November 9, 1957 were read, approved and adopted, J. R. Fountain reported bank balances as follows: General Account S; 22,502,85 Water Account 7,402.56 Depreciation Reserve 6,551.63 Payments from the General Account for November, 1957 were on checks numbered 293 through 325 and totalled ,;2,759.09, Payments from the Water Account were on checks numbered 129 and 130 and totalled r480.80. All of the above payments were unani- mously approved. Mayor Lindsay stated that the water samples taken dur- ing November, 1957 were reported satisfactory by the State Board of Health. Mayor Lindsay read the bids submitted by three local automobile rental agencies for the rental of two Chevrolets: A & S r 125.00 each per month Nichols 115.00 it Pitts 79,75 PP PP PP Mr. Iioch made a motion that the Town rent two Chevrolets from Pitts Car Rental at vi79.75 per month each and that thd%lown have the agency install heaters in both cars, pro- vided this does not increase the rental fee more than ";;.2.00 per car per month. Mr. Dodson seconded and the motion carried unani- mously. The Commissioners voted unanimously to purchase a new electric heater ft!'Y. Town Hall at �iv34.95• ��N 2 2-J- I 1 1 - ��(I - 2 - Mr. Iglehart made a motion that the sums of 51;6,587.63 and ��2,232.06, which represents the total on deposit in the Depreciation Reserve bank account and the amount due the Deprecia- tion Reserve bank account from the General Fund, be invested in short term U. S. Government Notes, Mr. Pope seconded and the mo- tion carried unanimously. Mr. Koch moved that the sum of :,5,255,50, which is the figure reported by Himes & Himes, the Town Auditors, be trans- ferred from the Water Account to the General Fund. Mr. Dodson seconded and the motion carried unanimously. The following resolution ,1'471 was passed unanimously: RESOLVED that the sums of jr59255.50 and Y3,244.50 be transferred from the General Account to the Water Account and that the total amount of :182500.00 be invested in Series R� U. S. Government Bonds. Mayor Lindsay appointed Mr. Dodson as a Committee of one to meet with J. R. Fountain and prepare recommendations for consideration of the Town Commissioners at the January Commission meeting for proper insurance coverage concerning Public Liability, Fidelity Bond and Automobile Liability and Comprehensive insurance. The Commissioners requested that J. R. Fountain find out the system employed by Delray Beach with regard to the purchase, installation, inspection and maintenance of water meters. J. R. Fountain was told to have a report on this matter for the January, 1958 Commission Meeting. Mr. Iglehart recommended that J. R. Fountain get prices on these meters from Delray Beach and from Mr. Howard Cromer, Mayor Lindsay appointed Mr. Pope and Mr. Iglehart as a Committee of Two (2) to study the townts water mains and make recommendations for new mains and increase in size of present mains to accomodate the anticipated growth of Gulf Stream for the next several years. A Proposed Ordinance #114 and titled: AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN OF GULF STREAM MAILING IT UNLAWFUL TO INSTALL OR USE ANY BOOSTER PUMP OR OTHER DEVICE FOR THE PURPOSE OF ACCELERATING TIE FLOW OR INCREASING THE PRESSURE IN ANY MAIN USED FOR THE DISTRIBUTION OF WATER FURNISHED BY GULF STREAM GOLF CLUB TO THE TOWN OR UPON ANY CONNEC- - 3 - TION THEREWITH ON PUBLIC OR PRIVATE PROPERTY; PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR VIOLATION; PROVIDING THIS ORDINANCE SHALL BECOME EFFECTIVE IM- MEDIATELY UPON ITS PASSAGE. Was read in full on First Reading. Mr. Pope moved the ordinance be approved and adopted. Mr. Koch seconded and the motion carried unanimously. A Proposed Ordinance #115 and titled: AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN OF GULF STREAM MAK- ING IT UNLAWFUL FOR ANY PERSON TO DUMP FILTH, DIRT, GARBAGE, SHELLS, TRASH, REFUSE OR OTHER THINGS IN THE WATERS OF ANY BODY OF WATER WITHIN THE TOWN LIMITS OF GULF STREAM, FLORIDA OR ADJACENT TO THE TOWN LIMITS; PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR VIOLATION; PROVIDING THIS ORDINANCE SHALL BECOME EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY UPON ITS PASSAGE. Was read in full. on First Reading. Mr. Iglehart made a motion the ordinance be approved and adopted. Mr. Dodson sec- onded and it carried unanimously. Mayor Lindsay recommended that J. R. Fountain contact the City Clerk of Delray Beach and find out what type Group-Bene- fit insurance policies and pension plan is currently endorsed by the City of Delray Beach. Fountain - OASI Tax 2 1 /4`n of #4 Secretarial Service Actual 1/20 of total 1 /10 of total 1/4 of total 7) Car Use: Rental - 1/20 of car used by Roy Cowart Gas and Oil - 1/20 of 1/2 of police carat gas - 4 - Above percentages and amounts to be paid by the Water Fund during the fiscal year October 1, 1057 - September 30, 1958. There being no futher business the commissioners adjourned.
