COMMUNITY ACCESS ADVISORY BOARD
Minutes for the Meeting of
April 17, 1989
The regular meeting of the Community Access Advisory Board of the
City of Lynwood, California was held on April 17, 1989 in the
Council Chambers of the City Hall (The agenda was duly posted
' as prescribed by the Brown Act�.
Chairperson Mary Wright called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m.
Members in attendance were Mary Wright, Bill Cunningham, and Re��.
C. C. Coleman. Excused was Ann Fields. Absent was Randy
Williams. Staff present were Gerald J. Forde and Carol de Jesus.
It was moved, seconded and carried to approve the minutes of
March 20,1989 meeting.
SCHEDULED MATTEF
A. DISCUSSION OF' "CITY BEAT" PROGRAM
Board Member Coleman agreed to serve as a committee member for
the "City Beat." program. Both Chairperson Wright and Re��.
Coleman planned to meet on Map 2 to work out the details for the
program. The commissioners and staff also came up with some
ideas as follow:
-focus on the ME�yor and Youth Council
-ha��e moderator give recap of Council acti��ities
-highlight some new recreational activities
-program outreach
-physical buildi.ng
The commission caill have a brainstorming session next meeting to
determine a catc;hing name for Lynwood's program.
B. ORGANIZATION OF LYNWOOD PRODUCTION GROUP
Chairperson Wri.ght explained that since the board has not had
any recent success in "getting programming", it would be ideal if
the people whom American Cablesystems has given training to and
who have used i:he studio form a group and use their talents
to produce sonne shows. The City will not pay them monetarc
compensation but as an incentive, they will get a chance to show
their work on local television.

Rev. Coleman expressed an interest in getting into a training
program with the American Cablesystems.
ORALS
Gerald Forde announced to the board that Don Fraser, Assistant
City Manager, aftier seven years of ser��ice with the City is taking
up a position Nith Ralph Andersen & Associates in Sacramento.
Since Reverend Coleman was not present at the past meeting,
Chairperson Wright reiterated the change of board meeting
schedule (from third to the second Monday of each month beginning
the month of May). Rev. Coleman was in favor of the change.
The next commission meeting is scheduled for May 8, 1989.
Meeting ended at 6:10 p.m.
