REGULAR MEETING OF TFiE COMMUNITY AFFAIRS COMMISSION
JANUARY 18, 1989
The Community Affairs Commission met in a regular session on
January 18, 1989 at the Council Chambers of the City Hall, 11330
Bullis Road, Lynwood California. (Agenda was duly posted as
prescribed by the Brown Act).
Commissioner Litsinger called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m.

The minutes of the November 16, 1988 meeting was approved. i
BUSZNESS ITEMS:
1. NEWSLETTER ARTICLE, "Did You Know?" i
Commissioner Ann Fields volunteered to call CalTrans for I
information regarding the status of the train station. I
Chairperson Litsinger added that there are two more articles
the commissioners need to cover for the newsletter 1) on
Lynwood's athletes 2) JTPA participants.
2. 710 FREEWAY ALIGNMENT PROJECT i
Chairperson Litsinger was concernged of the Rosecrans offramp !
being closed, causing a constant traffic jam at Atlantic. �

Mr. Forde will give him feedback on this matter next meeting.
By the same token, Commissioner Bays expressed her concern
regarding kids throwing rocks near the underpass of Fur and
Fernwood. Mr. Forde indicated that he will discuss this
matter with the Sheriff. �.. •
3. TERMS EXPIRING: COMMISSIONERS MADDEN/NEWTON
Both commissioners have submitted their request for
reappointments.
COMMISSIONERS' ORALS �
Chairperson Litsinger reported that City parks lights are always
on and he wanted to know who pays the light bill. Mr. Forde
asked Commissioner Espeseth to inform this matter to the
Recreation & Parks Commission and give the commissioners a
feedback on the next meeting.
Commissioner Bays mentioned that"heavy -load" trucks are often
seen parked on residential streets and she wanted to know if
there are any ordinance regulating weight of the trucks. Mr.
Forde said such information can be obtained from the Sheriff's.
Commissioner Espeseth asked Commissioners if they want her to
continue being the commission's representative for School
Superintendent's meetings. Commissioner Newton made a motion to
approve Commissioner Espeseth remaining as representative for the
School Superintendent's meetings and Commissioner Bays seconded.
Commissioner Walker opposed. Motion carried.
Commissioner Bays asked how one request for lighting in an alley �
and Mr. Forde advised her to contact the Department of Public i
works.

Commissioner Espeseth asked about acquiring one caterer for !
i
Bateman Hall and Mr. Forde informed the commissioners that the �
City is currently doing a proposal for a Concession Agreement to
provide food and alcoholic beverage services for Bateman Hall and I
will be sent to different caterers to apply. I
� There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 5:45 i
PM. The next meeting is scheduled for February 15, 1989.
