REGULAR MEETING OF THE COMMUNITY AFFAIRS COMMISSION
NOVEMBER 16, 1988
The Community Affairs Commission met in a regular session on
November 16, 1988 at the Council Chambers of the City Hall, 11330
Bullis Road, Lynwood California. (Agenda was duly posted as
prescribed by the Brown Act).
Commissioner Litsinger called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m.

The minutes of the October 19, 1988 meeting was approved. i
BUSINESS ITEMS: I

1. NEWSLETTER ARTICLE, "Did You Know?" i
a. Union Station i
The Commissioners expressed interest in having an article on (
the old railroad station featured on the newsletter. I
Commissioner Fields suggested that Caltrans be contacted i
regarding the old station. Commissioner Walker volunteered I
to bring a picture of the station. I

b. Athletes in the Community
Commissioner Newton suggested that an article on athletes in
the Community be included in the newsletter.
2. COMMISSIONERS AND BLOCK WATCA CAPTAINS' DINNER
Mr. Forde explained that the traditional Commissioners'
Annual Dinner will be a joint celebration with Block Watch
Captains. Commissioners agreed to decorate Bateman Hall but
disagreed with Chairman Litsinger's idea of assigning
tables. The City Manager's Office will take charge of doing
the program.
COMMISSIONERS ORAL
-Chairman Litsinger asked if Commissioners Madden and Newton
are aware of their terms expiring and if they have made
arrangements for their reappointments to the Commission.
Both indicated they will send letters to the City Clerk
and request for reappointments. Chairperson Litsinger asked that
the nominations of the Commissioners be included as an agenda
item in the next regular meeting.
-Commissioner Newton asked if American Cablesystems will rectify '
the existing cable problems and Mr. Forde expressed �
some optimism and indicated that the American Cablesystems will
do a better job next year. He further suggested that the
commissioners call him if problems still exist.
-Mr. Forde gave some statistical data on the 88/89 law �
enforcement service as follow: �
General Law - 9 one man car (56 hours) �
2 men cars �
Traffic - 2 one man car (40 hours) �
5 one man car (56 hours)
Parking - 2 civilian ???? �
Miscellaneous-1 service officer
2 community relations officer
-Chairperson Litsinger informed the Commissioners that the December
meeting will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Dec. 15th. Commissioner
Espeseth asked to be excused on the next regular meeting. I
