II AUTHORIZING LEASE WITH CARTERET BUSINESS PARTNERSHIP, INC.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Ordinance NO. 33 -66, the Borough of Carteret previously
authorized the leasing of certain Borough land to community organizations for
community service purposes; and
WHERAS, pursuant to said Ordinance, the Governing Body authorizes entering into a
lease, attached hereto and made a part hereof, dated
with the Carteret Business Partnership, Inc. (special improvement district) for a billboard
sign installation on property located on Beverly Street/industrial Highway, also known
as Block 133, Lot 24; and
WHEREAS, the Carteret Business Partnership has advised the Governing Body that it
wishes to make significant improvement to said property and will need to invest sums of
money to make said improvements; and
WHEREAS, the Carteret Business Partnership has advised the Governing Body that said
improvements and the investment of said fiends can only tr be justified if the present
lease for the above described property is approved for a period of ten years; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that the above described property is not needed for
other public purposes and the community services provided at this property by the
Carteret Business Partnership advances and promotes improvements to the business
environment.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the Borough
of Carteret, County of Middlesex, and State of New Jersey as follows:
I. That the lease between the Carteret Business Partnership and tine
Borough of Carteret dated for installation of a billboard
on the property located at Beverly/Industrial Highway is approved for
a term of ten years subject to the same temps and conditions provided
for in said lease.
2. That a copy of this Resolution shall be attached to the lease evidencing
the approval of the billboard installation and the same shall be kept on
file in the office of the Borough Clerk.
Adopted this 23` day of September, 2010
and certified as a true copy of the
original on September 24, 2010.
