HomeMy Public PortalAbout10-01-2015THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, OCTOBER 1, 2016 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met at 5:00 P.M., Thursday, September 17, 2015, in the Council Chambers at the Municipal Building, 50 North 5th Street, Richmond, Indiana. President Robinson called the meeting to order and the following business was conducted: ROLL CALL Board members present were: Vicki Robinson and Tony Foster. Absent was Dick Foore. Also in attendance were Kim Vessels, Assistant City Attorney; Monica Burns, Deputy City Clerk; Grants Administrator Sharon Palmer, Jeremy Bartley, Deputy Fire Chief Tim Brown; Police Lt. Donnie Benedict; and, Media. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Mr. Foster moved to approve the minutes of October 1, 2015, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT Mr. Foster moved to approve October 2, 2015 Claims for Payment in the amount of Two Hundred Eighty Five Thousand Six Hundred Sixty Seven Dollars and thirty four cents ($285,667.34), supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. REQUESTS • NOISE VARIANCES: THE SPORTSMAN 1304 NW 5th Street October 2, 2015 — 9 pm —1 am Mr. Foster moved to approve, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. TOWNSEND CENTER — Outdoor Movie October 23, 2015 — 6 -11 pm Mr. Foster moved to approve, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. • USE OF PARKING LOT: TOWNSEND CENTER — Zombie Walk vendors October 24, 2015 - 2 -8 pm North 10th Street Parking Lot— NEC 10th & Main Mr. Foster moved to approve, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. • HANDICAP PARKING SIGN RENEWAL: 220 North 15th Street Mr. Foster moved to approve, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. BID OPENINGS -None BID AWARDS - None CONTRACTS • CONTRACT NO. 105-2015 — NATE MOORE PLUMBING CONTRACTOR Installation of gas lines for generators for Fire Stations 2,3,4 & 5 Not to exceed $2,075.00 Mr. Foster moved to approve, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. • CONTRACT NO. 108 -2015 — STUDEBAKER -BUICK GMC SSOW /minutes/2015/oct 1.doac Board of Works Minutes October 1, 2015 2016 GMC Terrain Not to exceed $24,455.00 Mr. Foster moved to approve, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. • CONTRACT NO. 110-2015 —ENVIRONMENTAL ASSURANCE COMPANY Asbestos Abatement — Blight Elimination Program Not to exceed $24,550.00 Mr. Foster moved to approve, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. CHANGE ORDERS - None ADDENDUMS - None RESOLUTIONS • RESOLUTION NO. 18 -2015 — TRANSFER OF PROPERTIES TO THE NEIGHBORHOOD SERVICES CLEARINGHOUSE (Blight Elimination Program) Mr. Foster moved to approve, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. • RESOLUTION NO. 19 -2015 — TRANSFER OF PROPERTIES TO HABITAT FOR HUMANITY (Blight Elimination Program) Mr. Foster moved to approve, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. PETITIONS - None MISCELLANEOUS • DATE FOR TRICK OR TREAT October 31, 2015 — 5:30 — 7:30 pm ADJOURNMENT After a motion was duly made, the meeting was adjourned.
